Justin Beiber Gets Revenge

Who would win in a cell phone fight between Justin Beiber and Kevin Kristopik? Apparently Justin Beiber.

Steven Slater worked for 28 years as a flight attendant at JetBlue Airlines when he got so fed up with one of the passengers that he quit in the most extraordinary way.

The Great Oil Spill of 2010: UPDATED

On July 15 2010, the oil giant known as BP reported that it was successful in stopping the oil spill. Although many people believe that this might not be entirely the case, the Live Video of the Oil Spill clearly shows that there is no oil currently being leaked out of the destroyed well.

Despicable Me

One Minion   Five Stars   Two Minions

The new movie, "Despicable Me," is one of the few movies that surpasses its trailers. I saw it on the same day that it came out, July 9, and I can honestly say that it was one of the better movies that I have seen. The movie is about a villain who has set his mind on stealing the moon, but conflicts arise when three girls come into his life. This movie is a wonderful family movie, and it is well worth your time to watch, especially if you like comedy movies.

The Great Oil Spill of 2010

It is very sad that the British company known as BP has not come up with a solution for fixing the problem that everyone in the US knows about. Here are the facts about the huge oil spill that threatens much of life and industry in the surrounding area of the spill, located in the Gulf of Mexico.

New Family Movies: June and July 2010

There are three movies coming out in theaters that I think are going to be pretty popular with the family. Their names and a synopsis of each are listed in order of release date.

NY City: Failed Car Bombing

A person who is the suspect of a failed car bombing attempt was caught on camera changing shirts, possibly fleeing the scene. Luckily, the car bomb did not go off. New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly told CNN that the bomb squad blew open a large gun locker in the Pathfinder containing the bomb-making materials. In the locker, the bomb squad found eight bags of an unknown substance and a “bird’s nest” of M-88 firecrackers and wires. Later, tests showed that the substance was fertilizer, which by itself could not detonate, but it could be used in creating a bomb. In the back of the car there were two five-gallon gasoline containers, and in between them, there was a 16-ounce can containing between 20 and 30 M-88 devices. If the bomb would have detonated, the result would have been a “significant fireball.” The lockdown of New York City occurred at around half-past-six in the afternoon on Sunday, May 2nd, when a T-shirt vendor, who happened to be a Vietnam War veteran, saw the SUV and was suspicious, and alerted the police. When Officer Wayne Rhatigan looked inside of the car, he saw a box with smoke coming out of it, and he evacuated the area immediately.

Icelandic Volcanoes

Mt. Eyjafjallajökull (ay-yah-FYAH-lah-yer-kuhl) began erupting on March 20, but the biggest eruption happened on on April 14. Mt. Eyjafjallajökull, located in Iceland, is important and in the media right now because the ash from the eruption is in the jet stream, which means that any airplane that comes by will suck up the ash in its engines. Normal dust wouldn't be so bad, but apparently volcanic ash can melt and harden just like when sand turns into glass. This can damage and clog up the engines, and well, let's just say that I don't want to be on that plane when that happens.

National Day of Silence

This Friday (April 16, 2010,) is the National Day of Silence. By participating, students are saying "No" to the harassment and bullying of the GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender) community. If you take part in the National Day of Silence, you may choose to not talk for the whole day, or for any major part of the day. This day is also used to remember Lawrence "Larry" King, who was killed in his school for being gay.

Pizza Man Fights a Robber

In New York, a pizza deliveryman took down a robber that was trying to make off with the pizzas. The 19-year-old pizza employee was approached by two men, one of who pulled out a gun when the employee, known as Semde, refused to give them the pizza. Suddenly, as the would-be pizza-robber reached down to grab a slice, the deliveryman lunged at the robber, taking him down.
